Canterbury’s 2011 Christmas Season Ends with a Few Great Shows…
December of 2011 kept us very busy entertaining our guests for the Christmas season! It really started on November 16th with a sell out trip to “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora, with a stop at Two Brothers Roundhouse for lunch. On to the show stopper “Memphis” … hot from New York November 30 and December 3, two more sold out shows! Not to mention our trips to Chicago for “Free” Days… these are days that we drop guests off at places they want to go, just to enjoy a day of lunching, shopping, museums or looking at the Macy decorations. December got really crazy with our trips in to see Donny and Marie Osmond at the Oriental Theatre, Chicago. America’s favorite brother and sister invited us to join them in celebrating the joy of the season in true Osmond fashion, it featured everyones favorite hits mixed with their trademark show-stopping production numbers… three sold out buses! We had 168 of our friends on three buses going to Chicago for Christmas shows! On December 7 and 14… two more sold out buses for Million Dollar Quartet, Apollo Theatre, Chicago. Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis played together for the first and only time in history – this show was inspired by the actual event, even the men loved this one! Then one of my favorites for the year “Straight No Chaser” the Male Acapella group of 10 guys founded at Indiana University in the fall of 1996. They totally reinvented the idea of acappella with their modern twist on well known songs that you will remember! We enjoyed a gourmet dinner at Wildfire Restaurant before the 7:30 pm show.
I hope you can join us in 2012 for more of what we do… making memories for years to come!
