Les Miserables – A “Classic” Theatre Show

Sheila and Janet Lunching in Chicago Before the Show

On Saturday, February 26 our motorcoach departed the Highcrest Centre at 9:00 am sharp for Chicago!  There was a small blanket of snow on the ground but the sun was shinning bright and everyone was excited to start our adventure!  We dropped off at Rush & Superior for those that wanted to lunch on Michigan Ave., then we traveled on to drop off those who wanted to lunch in the Loop.  Everyone gets a time schedule and map including all the restaurnats in the area, no matter where you are you can read your map and know which way to go – fun!

We were picked up at our drop off at 1:15 pm to ride to the Cadillac Palace Theatre in Chicago.  Door to Door service is the BEST!  We had a sold out trip – 56 clients were there to see “Les Miserables.”  This is the masterpiece of theatrical music from French composer Claude-Michel Schonberg.  I loved the familiar melodies “I Dreamed A Dream,”… BEAUTIFUL! … and when Valjean sang “Bring Him Home” we were on the edges of our seats.  The staging was amazing and  the reimagined computer scenery was outstanding, we just couldn’t belive how real it all looked, you felt like you were a part of the show.

After the show we walked a block to Petterinos on Dearborn and had a fantastic salad with desert!  Our motor coach picked us up accross the street from the restaurant at 7:00 pm and we relaxed  and chatted all the way back to Rockford.  It couldn’t have been a more perfect day!  It’s the only way to travel to Chicago.
